Determination of the primary damage production in iono-covalent complex oxides : the DART code
Résumé
Numerous oxides extensively used as fuel (UO2, (U,Pu)O2) or nuclear waste matrix (pyrochlores) exhibit numerous sub lattices leading to the used of NRT formula obsolete to compute not only the displacement cross sections estimating he level of damage but also the primary and recoils spectra allowing comparison between different irradiations. To overcome this difficulty, the Lindhard formalism based on the Binary collision Approximation was applied to estimate radiation damage in the DART code. As this code is based on radiation damage induced by isotopes (and not only the chemical composition), it become possible to follow the impact of the burn-up and the burn-in of different isotopes on the damage production rate as well in different spectra.
