Prospects about X- and gamma-ray counterparts of gravitational wave signals with INTEGRAL

Résumé

By extrapolating the number of detections made during the first LIGO sciencerun, tenths of gravitational wave signals from binary black hole mergers areanticipated in upcoming LIGO Virgo science runs. Finding an electromagneticcounterpart for compact binary merger events would be a capital achievement. We evaluate the ability of current wide-field X- and gamma-ray telescopesaboard INTEGRAL to find such counterparts thanks to an end-to-end simulationfor estimating the fraction of the sources that can be followed up and/ordetected.
