A method for mastering the contact path location of spiral bevel gears by optimizing machine-tool settings
Résumé
Numerous methods for the improvement of unloaded kinematical behavior of spiral bevel gears appeared in the literature in the last years. The approach presented in this paper is based on usual optimization techniques. A simple and robust method for tooth surface generation and meshing simulation is proposed. The stability of the algorithm is essential in view of its implementation in an iterative process. Indeed, it is embedded in an optimization scheme to place the contact path on the tooth flank and avoid any contact on the edges. It is the first step before an optimization of the loaded contact path.
