Filamentation of femtosecond Bessel beams with shaped longitudinal profiles

Résumé

The conical structure of the light flow in Bessel beams brings energy to the central intense core all along the propagation, in a propagation invariant way. This structure, allowing for stationary regimess of filamentation is very advantageous to avoid nonlinear distorsion during their propagation at high intensity in dielectrics and high aspect ratio micro-nanomachining [1]. However, nonlinear couplings inherently generate unstabilities and significant variations of the on-axis intensity which can be detrimental to control uniform light-matter interaction along the propagation [2,3].
