Intermezzo. Hudal. From error to deceit and from joke to well-balanced digression and bullshit
Intermezzo. Hudal.
In this intermezzo, I explore the various meanings of the Mongolian term hudal – often translated as a “lie”. These potential meanings cover a huge field of practices that, in our own language, we strive to differentiate such as “make a mistake”, “distort reality”, “to flannel somebody”, “to joke”, “to bullshit”. I try to connect these practices to certain forms of social organization.
