Simple improved control of phase error compensation for low power operation of PV grid-connected inverter with LCL filter

Obvious grid power factor degradation can often be observed when using LCL filter for grid-connected photovoltaic systems. This paper analyzes degradation causes and a phase error compensation structure is proposed. Experimental results conclude that the proposed compensation structure improves the grid power quality in case of low PV production, in both power factor and harmonics.
