Qal’at al-Bahrain, Ancient Capital and Harbour of Dilmun. The Site Museum
Résumé
Once the archaeological site of Qal'at al-Bahrain was registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005, the conception of a specific museum that would enhance the experience of the visitors, appeared as a priority.
Built along the waterfront of the site, the 2000m2 Site Museum brings together over 500 artefacts uncovered during the excavations carried out since 1954 by Danish, French and Bahraini teams.
The catalogue elaborates on the history of the excavations on site and the main uncovered results. It comprises all the texts displayed in the successive chronological sections at the Museum along with a rich illustration of the main exhibited artefacts.
