Résumé

Electrochemical methods (potential versus time, polarization curves and linear polarization resistance) were used to determine the electrochemical behaviour of an aluminium based material (AlSi/AlMn/AlSi sandwich sheets) in a commercial cooling liquid, Glaceol D which contains tolytriazole as a corrosion inhibitor. The tests were carried on at different temperatures and it was found that tolytriazole is an anodic corrosion inhibitor. At the ambient temperature it was found that the inhibition efficiency increases with the amount of the cooling liquid in the aqueous dilution is increased (97 for 30%vol. Glaceol D). The corrosion resistance of this sandwich material is too increased with the immersion duration, due to the formation of a protective layer, but at higher temperatures (60 or 80°C), this later is less stable and the corrosion rate is increased. Yet it was found that the protective film is reformed during the ambient stages of the thermal cycles.
