Electron-wave momentum exchange and time domain simulations applied to traveling wave tubes

Résumé

We presented at the 2013 and 2015 IVEC conferences a new discrete model for the traveling wave tube (TWT) as an alternative to PIC and frequency algorithms. Since then, we upgraded the model to consider hamiltonian aspects of the dynamics (better ensuring physical conservation laws). We also provide a new formulation for the electromagnetic momentum and power in tubes, offering further opportunities to characterize wave-electrons interactions.
