High temperature contact conductance measurement across cylindrical joint by the periodic method: feasibility and first results

Résumé

This paper deals with the possibility and the ®rst measurements of thermal contact conductance of cylindrical joints by the periodic method at high temperature. The mathematical principle is presented. The calibration of the method is performed on a composite nickel/nickel cylinder, the interface of which has a controlled macroroughness. The experimental results are compared with the results of a geometric conductance model. A good agreement is observed. 7
