Overlay Inband D2D-e Network Using Fuzzy C-Means Clustering for Disaster Situations

Résumé

Device-to-device (D2D) communications is consideredas a promising new wireless communications technology.Among all its possible applications, the use of D2D networks isof a big interest in the case of disaster situations. In this paper,we propose two emergency network deployments, with the helpof a sky balloon equipped with an aerial e-NodeB supplanting adestroyed base station. The contribution of this work is threefold:we first propose a cellular communication scheme for emergencycases, secondly we introduce a novel method of D2D clusteringbased on Fuzzy C-Means algorithm for disaster situation, then weanalyze and compare the energy and spectral efficiency for bothschemes, and give possible perspectives to our work. Throughoutour work, we show that the best spectrum partition for energyefficiency is not necessarily the same for spectral efficiency. Thiswork aims to find a trade-off between both metrics, in order tohave an optimal clustered network.
