Analytical model of heat transfers in very high speed electric motors
Résumé
—This paper deals with an analytical thermal model for switched reluctance motors (SRM). This presented thermal model is a capitalization of knowledge concerning heat transfers for this type of electric machine and it has been built in an objected oriented environment. Generally, electric motors generate heat with their losses. These losses can be classified in three categories: electrical circuit losses, magnetic circuit losses and mechanical losses. A lumped thermal model has been created in an objected oriented environment, with calculated losses, thermal resistances and capacities, in order to predict heat transfers and temperature evolution in different parts for any switched reluctance machine topology. Analytical thermal relations for the conduction or convection heat transfer are implemented in object class methods. At the end, it has been obtained a complete thermal model that can give a transient temperature simulation for any topology of switched reluctance motors.
