Résumé

Thermal spraying was used to achieve bilayer Al/Mo coatings on E335 steel. The microstructure and chemical composition of the coatings were examined by SEM-EDS and XRD. The corrosion behaviours of bare and Al/Mo coated E335 steel were studied, in simulated rain solutions (pH 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5), by means of potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and dissolution tests. All these techniques concur in showing that Al/Mo coating enhances the corrosion resistance of the steel in acid rains. The characterization of the microstructure indicates that this improvement can be partly attributed to the good adhesion of Al on Mo. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
