Fault Tolerant Content Adaptation for a Dynamic Pervasive Computing Environment

Abstract

Content adaptation is a process that makes information fits with the context of the user and his/her environment. Service composition is an effective solution to perform content adaptation in a dynamic pervasive computing environment such as a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET). In our previous work, a collaboration-based content adaptation middleware called ConAMi was proposed. In the middleware, content adaptation is done by composing adaptation services which are available in the vicinity. In this paper, a fault detection and recovery mechanism is proposed to enhance the middleware ConAMi. The proposed mechanism has been validated through experimentations.
