Address Configuration Schemes in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks
Résumé
This paper presents an overview of proposals concerning the auto-configuration of Mobile Ad Hoc Net-works. We will shortly describe the solutions used in wired networks, the characteristics of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks and the basic problems raised by the auto-configuration in mobile environments. We will present the existing solutions to this problem. The adaptation of mechanisms such as MobileIP is one of the proposed solutions. Independently of this, alternative mechanisms based on geographical or Peer-To-Peer routing have been proposed. We provide highlights on the characteristics of these different approaches.
