Eyebrows in interaction
Résumé
Conversational facial gestures can be considered as co-verbal thanks to their timing with words and context. In particular, a relationship between eyebrow movements and speech, on both prosodic and conversational levels has been found. The originality of the present study is twofold: it deals with eyebrow movements in three different corpora of French talkin- interaction and it involves the same pair of speakers in each condition. The aim of this study is 1/ to compare the production of eyebrow movements in different speaking tasks specific and 2/ to establish the location of eyebrow movements according to speaking turns. Our results show that the different corpora exhibit a significant difference related to the production of eyebrow movements while the latter significantly co-occur with the beginning of speaking turns, whatever the type of corpus.
