ROIS ET CITÉS DE CHYPRE : QUESTIONS DE TERRITOIRES
Résumé
Ancient sources on the territories of ancient Cypriot kingdoms are scarce. Besides, the archaeology of Iron Age Cyprus has usually concentrated on the exploration of major urban settlements. The spatial environment of the Cypriot poleis thus remains largely unknown. By addressing three main issues (the formation and evolution of the territories, the spatial organization of the kingdoms, and the relationships between kings and lands) and by setting the Cypriot case in its Mediterranean context, this contribution aims at shedding some light on the Cypriot Iron Age chorai.
