Optical Gate Control of Power Transistors

Résumé

In this talk, I introduce our research on optical control of power transistors: from early attempts of monolithic integration to a coupled design with CMOS ICs, several solutions are described. Optical interconnect is also discussed in the context of power electronics, in the view of improving integration and allowing faster switching speed of power semiconductor devices.
