Is the climate prediction more reliable in Spanish than in French? An analysis of the itive periphrasis aller/ir a + infinitive epistemic value in Spanish and in French.
The aim of this paper is to determine which criteria are pertinent in the choice of one of these concurrent forms : future and the « aller/ir a + infinitive » periphrasis. The analysis is done based on a translation in Spanish and in French of a technical paper redacted by the IPCC about climate change scenarios. The study is about syntactic and semantic criteria but also about genre analysis.
