Compression de maillages 3D
Résumé
3D graphics data are more and more complex due to an increasing precision in their acquisition and/or creation, and thus need to be efficiently compressed. The main objectives of compression is to reduce the size of the data, and to produce different levels of details in order to adapt the complexity of the data to heterogeneous devices and networks. This chapter presents existing algorithms for 3D and 3D+t meshes and details the metrics that are essential to drive the rate-distortion tradeoff.
