Delayed Maintenance Model For Deteriorating Track Using Colored Petri Nets

Résumé

Track maintenance is implemented to maintain track quality to ensure railway safety. Delayedrepair is a specific problem in track maintenance due to the long distance travelling or the limitation ofthe maintenance tool. We want to assess the effects of delayed repairs on maintenance performance andtake them into account for track maintenance decision, especially for the condition based maintenance. In this paper, a Coloured Petri Net (CPN) model is proposed to evaluate the delayed maintenance basedon track condition for the given repair delays. This model can investigate the effects of the delays andoptimize the maintenance decisions.Monte Carlo simulations are performed for different maintenance configurations. The simulation resultsshow that the floor of ratio of repair delay and inspection interval has influence on the maintenance cost.Furthermore, the comparison shows that the condition-based inspection maintenance is better than theperiodic inspection maintenance.
