Résumé
Three closely interrelated features of Laurence Sterne's novel "Tristram Shandy" are examined : the central event which constitutes the work as a text with a subject, the rhetorical figures which contribute to the structuring of the discourses of two of the principal characters and the metaleptic quality of the narrator's discourse.
