Fibre-fed multipoint indoor optical wireless system

Résumé

This paper presents an Indoor Optical Wireless (IOW) distribution system using a 1.55 μm infrared communication channel. The idea is to provide indoor free-space dynamic optical coverage cells at very high rates through an optical fibre network using a dedicated architecture. We simulate the overall link to show that an implementation with "almost" commercially available components may lead to 2.5 Gbit/s operational optical wireless links.
