WORDS COUNT: HOW INTEREST IN STEM CELLS HAS MADE THE EMBRYO AVAILABLE—A LOOK AT THE FRENCH LAW OF BIOETHICS
Résumé
This paper looks at the French debate over human embryonic stem cells around the adoption of new bioethics legislation in the mid 2000s. It argues that powerful political rhetoric has successfully severed the embryo from hESCs in order to change the legislation and allow scientific research on hESCs.
