Physical Model of the Trombone Including Nonlinear Effects. Application to the Sound Synthesis of Loud Tones.

Résumé

In this paper we present a simple physical model of the trombone reproducing the generation of brassy sounds for loud tones. Two implementations are considered for the nonlinear wave propagation effects: one in which these effects only affect the radiation of sound, the other in which they also take part in the oscillation process. We explain the different hypotheses which lead to these different models and compare the numerical results they give.
