Résumé

The effective-mass model is found to be inadequate for the understanding of the quantum confinement effect in hybrid perovskites. On p. 3733, J. Even, L. Pedesseau, and C. Katan report an alternative approach in which the hybrid perovskites are treated as composite materials.
