Mid-term planning of a shampoo packing system
Résumé
We consider the problem of medium-term planning in a shampoo packing system, which problem is a particular single level, multi-item, capacitated lot sizing problem with zero production costs and constrained on the lots size. This packing system produces several items (shampoo bottles) and provides subsidiary companies in order to keep their stocks in a window defined by their safety stocks and maximum inventory levels. We present an improvement of the period by period heuristic. In this paper the goal is to minimize the sum of proportional overflow and shortage unlike the first heuristic which failed in balancing the deliveries between small-size and high-size subsidiary companies. We compare our new heuristic to the previous one and numerical experiments show that our heuristic provides better results for without deteriorating the required CPU time.
