In this article, we define the investigation in mathematics and more precisely the experimental in mathematics. We show how number theory offers an interesting field of investigation for teaching. Then we explain an implementation of experimental investigation with the Erdös-Straus conjecture. Finally, we develop two features of the experimental dimension in mathematics: a link between sensible objects and mathematical objects and a close relationship between learning heuristics skills and learning new mathematical concepts.
