Electro-Optical Up-Converter Mixer Based on a Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifier
Résumé
We experimentally demonstrate the frequency up-conversion at 16 GHz of a radio-frequency signal based on a Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (RSOA). The RSOA is electrically modulated by a IF source at 1 GHz in presence of an injected optical bi-mode Local Oscillator (LO). The two optical modes are separated by 16 GHz. We demonstrate the frequency up-conversion of 1.5 MSymb/s QPSK data modulating the IF carrier.
