The past decade has been witness to the development of new chemical and physical methods allowing the synthesis of colloidal particles of different shapes with a good size and shape selectivity. Colloidal triangles,[1] ellipsoids,[2] cubes,[3,4] spheroids,[4] tripods,[5] tetrapods,[6] rods,[7] dumbbells,[8] or prisms[9] have been produced.
