Bubble-wall friction in a circular tube.

Résumé

A vast amount of studies in the literature have been devoted to Bretherton's problem related to the steady-state motion of an elongated gas bubble in a capillary filled with liquid. For a train of bubbles confined in a circular tube, we clearly measured a dependence of the bubble-wall friction force as a function of the liquid volume fraction. This experimental observation may require further theoretical developments.
