A robust buffer management and packet scheduling algorithm with QoS in an optical ingress node

Résumé

We point out the impact of buffer management and packet scheduling policy on QoS parameter values. We propose a new buffering/scheduling algorithm adopted in optical metro/core network to manage the performance of packet loss ratio (PLR) taking into account different classes of service. As a result, we compare PLR of the new buffering/scheduling algorithm with buffer partitioning algorithm.
