Quantum modeling of laser-quantum dots interactions

Résumé

We derive a Bloch model for the interaction of light with quantum boxes thanks to a two-electron-species (conduction and valence) description. We obtain a Bloch equation which dominant terms are solution to a Liouville equation. This stems from a more precise description than that previouly used by physicists and needs a careful analysis of the treatment of level degeneracy in the framework of the Pauli exclusion principle. Other effects are then added to take into account Coulomb, electron-phonon,... interactions. The structure of this model and its ability to preserve some mathematical properties are compared with former models.
