Three-scale nonlinear analysis until collapse for a priori damage assessment of RC frame elements in seismic loading

Résumé

Predictive modeling of the response of structures under severe dynamic loading until collapse can be seen as a priori damage assessment. To develop such an approach for RC frame structures, on the one hand refined constitutive models are needed to represent the main response characteristics until collapse and, on the other hand, efficient computational strategy is required to avoid too excessive computational costs. This paper presents a three-scale computational framework to integrate a refined constitutive model for concrete in a fiber element.
