Innovation poles and innovative entrepreneurship

Résumé

This work shows how clusters contribute to dynamics of entrepreneurship, particularly by stimulating very innovative spin-offs in the areas of specialization of the poles. The poles also seem to have a positive impact on business creation in the economy through increased demand for induced activity. In the aim of studying the main channels of innovation from SMEs and their rooting in specific territories, three main innovative poles are analysed namely the traditional marshallian district, the Local System of Innovation (LSI) and the pole of competitiveness. The transmission of innovative coordination mechanisms is analysed and its impact on the innovative activity of SMEs is described.
