Action of divided differences on modified powers
Abstract
Divided differences are operators acting on functions of several variables. We describe this action on the basis of modified powers (that is, x(k) is replaced by (x - a(0))(x - a(1)) ... (x - a(n - 1)). Special cases are of interest when a(i) = q(i) or a(i) = i. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
