Physical properties of dust produced in a N2 - CH4 RF plasma discharge
Résumé
A Capacitively Coupled Plasma discharge working in a N2-CH4 mixture is used to produce analogues of Titan's aerosols. They are observed by electronic microscopy and their optical properties are studied by light scattering. The dusts particles are mainly quasi spherical, their mean diameter increases with plasma duration. Polarisation of the scattered light by dusts agglomerates presents a maximum positive value for a phase angle of 100°.
