A 34 nm monolithic continuously tunable VCSEL at 1.55 µm

Résumé

In this work, we present a monolithic tunable VCSEL (T-VCSEL) device, including an intracavity nematic liquid crystal (LC) layer. A continuously 34 nm wavelength tuning is demonstrated, without any mode hopping, with the application of a driving voltage as low as 2.4 V.
