Minimizing temporal simulation time to estimate common mode disturbances: experimental considerations

Résumé

This paper highlights the fact that the minimal time interval to compute the spectrum of a common mode current is not more than a switching duration. From the acquisition of the common mode current generated by a buck converter, two relevant pulses are extracted as well as the switching instants. The convolution of both allows to compute a estimated common mode current that has a spectral representation very close to the real one. This technique can be easily applied from data extracted from a time domain simulation and seems to be very interesting in the perspective of reducing computation durations.
