Human-Machine Interaction. Mutual attention and accommodation during face-to-face interaction

Résumé

The session will introduce some aspects of multimodal face-to-face interaction between embodied conversational agents and human partners in particular the challenge of characterizing and modelling mutual attention and accommodation. We will show that humans and agents are involved in complex and intricate interaction loops that modulate action, perception and cognition processes.
