Fuzzy Approaches for Measurement

Résumé

Since it appeared in Zadeh's (1965) seminal paper, fuzzy subsets theory has been effectively applied in many domains. This article presents the different approaches used in the measurement domain. It first defines fuzzy sensors as the application of fuzzy subset theory to measurement. Numerical and linguistic versions of fuzzy subsets for measurement are then presented before discussions of rule-based fusion and interpolation fusion of information.
