Ever since the first English colonies were established in North America, women have felt themselves called to preach the Gospel in the wilderness of the "New World." Why, then, has it only been in the 21st century that a "tradition" of women preachers has emerged in American history, and why has their "heritage" been so long ignored? This lack of recognition is the subject of the article.
