Origin-Destination matrix by Using Inductive Loop Detector

Résumé

This paper is dealing with the use of existing widespread Inductive Loops Detector (ILD) Network in order to realize Origin-Destination matrix in real time. The aim is to provide traffic information to both users and traffic managers. This is now possible with the new sensor technologies which generate the inductive signature of the vehicle. The identification of the vehicle is completed with the comparison of the destination inductive signature to the origin inductive signature by a Bayesian based learning approach. The learning phase was done on a dataset obtained from ILD on a motorway section and the validation was done in real time on an another motorway section.
