Transportation' role in the suppliers selection decision
Résumé
A review of literature on the supplier selection problem show that very few studies highlight explicitly, the weight of the transportation policy in this selection. In this paper, we propose a mixed nonlinear programming model which determine, for a product, the number of suppliers to choose, the quantity to be ordered to each one and the impact of transportation in suppliers, transit and buyer inventories. An evaluation of the model is presented under various scenarios.
