FINANCER L'INNOVATION EN AGRICULTURE FAMILIALE. LE CAS DES CULTURES EN SEMIS DIRECT SOUS COUVERTURE VEGETALE (SCV) A MADAGASCAR
Résumé
The lack of access to credit remains a major constraint for the development of agricultural innovation by rural households. Rural finance is today more and more offered by market institutions. Agricultural innovation implies a high level of systemic uncertainty (technical, economical, organisational) that financial markets manage with difficulty. An intermediation between innovators and financial markets is necessary. Based on a study of financing Direct Seeding Mulch-Based Cropping Systems (SVC) in Madagascar, the paper compares three forms of intermediation : development project, collective action, public policy
