A multiple-polynomial LFSR based pseudorandom number generator design for EPC gen2 systems
Résumé
A new pseudorandom number generator (PRNG) design for EPC Gen2 is discussed. This generator is based on a 16-bit linear feedback shift register (LFSR) that contains multiple feedback primitive polynomials fed by a physical source of randomness. The resulting generator successfully handles the inherent linearity of LFSR based PRNGs and satisfies the requirements imposed by the EPC Gen2 standard. Statistical analysis of the sequences generated by our generator confirms the validity of the proposed technique. An electronic circuit simulation confirms, moreover, that our proposal has a simpler hardware implementation than previous schemes reported in the literature.
