Fault tolerant in descriptor linear systems via generalized proportional-integral regulator/observer

This paper presents a new and simple method to design a full Regulator/Observer for linear timeinvariant (LTI) descriptor systems subject to unknown inputs (UI). Based on the proportional integral (PI) observer approach developed by [9], a new disturbance accommodation using a feedback of estimated state and disturbance in LTI descriptor systems is investigated. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the Regulator/PI-Observer are given and contrarily at [7] the UI decoupled condition is not needed. An illustrative example is included.
