Mobile Radio Channels Characterization based on Wideband SIMO 1 x 8 Measurements at 2.2 GHz
Résumé
In this paper we present results obtained from measurements at 2.2 GHz, based on 1 x 8 SIMO configuration. A typical urban time-variant environ-ment has been investigated. The measurement equipment is a SIMO/MIMO channel sounder developed at IETR/INSA. The transmitter, using an omnidi-rectional antenna, was driven on a vehicle. We set the receiver in three different positions, where we used 8 active elements ULA (Uniform Linear Array). The results from the first campaigns show that spatial diversity is obtained for 11 λ (1.5 m at 2.2 GHz) at the base station and 0.36 λ (4.9 cm) at the mobile station which can be applied for UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System).
