SYNTHESIS OF VARIOUS TYPES OF FUNCTIONAL HETEROCYCLIC-COMPOUNDS BY DECOMPOSITION OF UNSATURATED PEROXIDES - COMPETITIVE REACTIONS
Résumé
Decomposition of gamma-unsaturated substituted peroxides in a good hydrogen donor solvent can lead to two diastereoisomeric oxetans. An intramolecular 1,5 hydrogen shift followed by a cyclization may compete with the homolytic intramolecular substitution following the first addition step. The factors governing this never-reported competition are determined.
