A LPV/Hinf semi-active Suspension based full vehicle attitude controller

Résumé

In actual passenger cars, because of the price, volume, time response constraint, etc., suspension system actuators are mainly semi-active (i.e. have structural dissipative constraint). Generally, in the automotive robust framework literature, suspensions are treated as active in order to be able to achieve at every time and situation any desired forces, then the semi-active constraint is fulfilled by saturating the actuators. Such an approach degrades the performances of the closed loop system in a non predictable way. In this paper, we introduce an Hinf semi-active suspension based attitude controller for full vehicles that a priori satisfies limitations of a semi-active damper (dissipative constraint and force bounds) through the Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) theory. Simulations on a non-linear full vehicle model are performed to show the efficiency of the method and to validate the theoretical approach.
